At the center of the village Sirogojno, on a small hill, there is church dedicated to the Holy Apostols Saint Peter and Paul. The church was built in 1764and there are written proofs of it on the Tsar’s doors with the signature of the painter of icons Simeon Lazović. Painting of the icons in the church in Sirogojno is the earliest known work of the most famous Serbian painter, what gives church an exceptional value. We can notice two phases in the painting of the iconostas. The first phase has the marks of post Byzantium art, whereas in the second phase, from the beginning of the eight decade of 18th century, we can see the baroque style. The Church is in the area of a monument complex under the protection of the state to which the open air museum `Staro selo` also belongs. At the very church port there are grave stones from the 19th century on which unique art presentation and writings can be seen.
