The Potpećka Cave is a natural monument situated 14 kilometers from Užice. What makes this cave extraordinary is the entrance itself which is the monumental work of nature in the shape of a horseshoe 50 meters high and is the tallest cave entrance in Serbia. The Potpećka Cave is a spring type of the cave because it was built by the descending waters which after their flow below the earth, go in front of the cave and make the cave river Petnica. In the interior of the cave objects from Neolith were found: pottery, tools and remodeled deer horns. Rocks in the cave are mostly white, massive and layered. Calcite layers from the waters of Cave Rivers are especially interesting geological forms.
