Jablanica

One of the fastest mountain villages in Serbia is village Jablanica, only 22 kilometers away from the center of Zlatibor. The village is of extraordinary beauty, because most of its part is situated in the valley of the river Jablanica, and over the village looms the highest peak of Zlatibor, Tornik, under which is the source of Jablanica. Aside from the natural beauty on every side, the village is famous for its log-built church dating back from 1838. Inside church’s courtyard, there are many small wooden buildings which long time ago had been built by the wealthy villagers and which were used by them and their guests during church gatherings. Although the whole area of Zlatibor is famous for its old wooden log cabins, old buildings of this type are only preserved in Jablanica.
