The village Šljivovica, famous for its beauty of nature and fruit products, is only 10 kilometers away from Čajetina. The village got its name because it was the place where the first plums were planted, and in 2008 for the first time, plum brandy fair was organized here, accompanied with the rich cultural program and various competitions. Aside from the competition in making and drinking brandy, the fair also has competition in speech skills, making the best traditional pie, competition in the fast knitting of woolen socks, a sale of various domestic products characteristic for Zlatibor district. In Šljivovica you can buy cheese, ‘kajmak’, jams, honey, blackberry wine, plum marmalade, blackberries, wild strawberries, knitted jumpers and socks and many wood products. It is very interesting that the plum brandy (Šljivovica) made by the recipe from this village has a European certificate for geographical origin and name so no one in the world can use the same name for their plum brandy.
