Lake Perućac is an accumulative lake between Bajina Bašta and Višegrad made by damming the river Drina whose water accumulates in the lake. It is at about 290 meters altitude and the biggest part of this lake lays in the canyon of the river Drina. It is interesting that across the middle of the lake is the state border between the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This beautiful lake that encompasses mountain Tara is suitable for swimming and fishing. Tourism is very developed in this area, so every year there is a popular competition going by the name `hunt for fish mladica` but most famous is ‘Regatta on the river Drina` from Perućac to Rogačice. Not far from the lake is the National Park Tara, monastery Rača, Višegrad Bridge and the Shargan Eight. Very close by the lake is a medieval stone necropolis `Mramorje` which is under state protection as the cultural monument of a great importance.
