Stopića Cave is one of the most famous natural attractions near Zlatibor. The cave is known for its unique natural stone pools and waterfalls that create a spectacular underground landscape. Well-arranged paths allow visitors to safely explore this remarkable natural phenomenon.

Stopića Cave is one of the most impressive natural phenomena of the Zlatibor region and one of the most significant speleological sites in Serbia. Located on the northeastern side of the Zlatibor mountain, near the village of Rožanstvo, about 19 kilometers from the Zlatibor tourist center, this monumental river cave was formed by underground water flows passing through limestone rock over thousands of years, creating a unique underground landscape that fascinates visitors with its size and natural beauty.

The entrance to the cave is nearly 40 meters wide and about 18 meters high, making it one of the most imposing cave entrances in the region. The interior of the cave features vast chambers, natural channels through which water flows, and various sediments shaped by long-term natural processes. Thanks to the well-maintained trails and lighting, part of the cave has been adapted for tourist visits, allowing guests to safely explore this fascinating underground world.

Why visit Stopića Cave?

The main attraction of Stopića Cave is the unique bigrene pools — natural depressions in the limestone rock that gradually fill with water and form a series of cascading pools. These natural formations create a highly picturesque scene, especially during times of high water levels, when the pools resemble small natural waterfalls scattered throughout the cave.

A particularly impressive part of the cave is the internal waterfall, about 10 meters high, known as the "Source of Life." Its powerful jet and the sound of flowing water leave a strong impression on visitors. The combination of light, water, and stone creates a unique atmosphere that makes this cave one of the most photogenic natural sites in Zlatibor.

Stopića Cave is an ideal destination for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure tourism enthusiasts, but also for families who want to experience an extraordinary natural environment during their stay in Zlatibor.

Transport:

The cave is accessible via an asphalt road connecting Zlatibor with the village of Sirogojno, where clear tourist signage is in place. Visitors can park in a designated area near the site, from which a well-maintained walking path leads to the cave entrance. Traveling by car from the Zlatibor center takes approximately 25 minutes, and the site is often combined with a visit to the nearby open-air museum — Sirogojno Open-Air Museum.

Prices:

The entrance fee for adult visitors is around 400 RSD, while discounts are often available for children, students, and organized groups. The entrance ticket includes access to the tourist-adapted part of the cave and the marked trails.

Operating Hours:

The operating hours depend on the season. During the summer months, the cave is open to visitors from 09:30 to 18:00, while in the winter months, the hours are shorter, typically from 09:30 to 16:30.

Thanks to its natural authenticity, impressive formations, and easy accessibility, Stopića Cave is one of the must-visit destinations for all Zlatibor guests who want to discover the hidden natural treasures of this mountain region.
